Integrated B.Tech is a combined form of Diploma in Engineering and Graduation in Engineering which started with a vision to fill the gap between both the courses. Candidates pursuing Diploma in a technical field usually enroll in B.Tech to have better opportunities in future but the procedure of lateral admissions in B.Tech provides diploma holders lacking mathematics foundation.
By giving an option of pursuing integrated B.Tech, candidates can learn both Diploma and Graduation level studies in a single course and single admission without topic overlapping and any gap.
Being a technical course, it cannot be pursued through correspondence and even not available in part-time mode.
Candidates who have completed 10th standard examinations with one go from a registered institute are eligible for this course. Candidates with compartments are not eligible.
The age must be more than 20years to get admissions in reputed institutes.
For admissions, candidates need to fill out and submit the applications. They can fill and submit the applications online also in some institutes.
Institutes shortlist the candidates on merit basis and then conduct an entrance test for further screening. Candidates performing well in the same get shortlisted for interview sessions and after that, the admissions can be finalized.
The duration of this course is 6 years. These 6 years are divided into 12 parts known as semesters. The initial duration teaches and covers the topics of diploma level and the latter part includes and teaches the graduation level topics.
Further Study options
After completion of this course, candidates can pursue Master’s degree or any other equivalent course to get better options in future. They can enroll in M.Tech, M.E., etc as per their choice.
After that, Ph.D. is an option for candidates having a scientific aptitude and looking forward to having a scientific career in future.
B.Tech is a technical course with different specializations like Civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer engineering, Electronic engineering, telecommunication engineering, etc. The basics of all the specializations are same hence the candidates learn about natural science, chemistry, physics, statistics, mathematics, logic, computer science, etc during the initial phase of the course.
Candidates also get skilled for leadership, decision-making ability, personality development, etc.
The candidates need to complete 1 year industrial training during the last year of the course.
