About the course
M.Tech. is a post graduate course with technical specialization. It has different sub divisions and Information Systems is one of them. The course includes study of computers and other related aspects of it like design, implementation, management, etc. Both software as well as hardware related topics are covered under this course.
Like all other post graduate degree, candidate must have graduation degree to pursue this course. The graduation degree should be with related specialization like B.E in computer Science or B.Tech.
It is a 2 years full time course. Each year is again divided into 2 semesters. Candidates need to pass each semester separately. If due to any reason, he or she cannot pass a subject of any semester, it can be attempted in next semesters with prior permission from management.

After successful completion of this course, most of the candidates will get good job opportunities, but still there are some people who want to study further. They can go for research studies and can try to have Doctorate in their field of interest.
The job opportunities are countless in this field. The main attraction of candidates is IT service provider companies in private sector. These companies have different departments like hardware/software development, testing, Application support, etc. and they need candidates for every department.

The course includes study of Essential Mathematics, Algorithms and its parts like Foundations and Approximation. The course also teaches about communication technologies, Signal processing and all other related areas.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd semesters are academic and the last semester includes training project to be conducted at any relevant IT company. The marks obtained in training are also included in final aggregates for the degree.
There are many government bodies supporting this course by providing scholarships to the deserving candidates. GATE is one of them which also give opportunity to pursue the course from any if the IITs.
