About M.Tech Transportation Engineering Course
Master of Technology in Transportation Engineering is a two year post graduation course which deals with the design and construction of roads. It also deals with the application of latest technologies and scientific approach in the transportation ans traffic management to save time and cost. This course covers both management and engineering aspects of transportation systems. It includes the study of transportation, land use planning, transport management economics, traffic engineering, pavement design, financial management and personnel management. It also makes students gain knowledge on CAD in transportation engineering, geographical information systems and computer simulation. These transportation Engineers are hired in transportation consultancies, highway and railway projects, public sector organizations etc.
Minimum eligibility required to apply for admission to the M.Tech Transportation Engineering Course is to qualify Bachelor's degree (Bachelor of Engineering B.E/ Bachelor of Technology B.Tech) in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning or any other equivalent qualification in a relevant field from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
Admission procedure may vary from one college to another. Most of the institutes offer admission to the M.Tech Transportation Engineering Course, based on candidate's performance in the state level or national level entrance examinations such as PGECET, GATE, JEE Main, JEE Advanced etc. Some institute conduct their own entrance examination to offer admission, often followed by personal interview.
