More about the courese
Water required for agriculture is fulfilled by the rain, but for some dry areas irrigation is the only process by which water is supplied to crops. Irrigation is a artificial process through which water is applied to soil to maintain the landscapes or to grow agricultural crops. Irrigation engineer should have a through knowledge of irrigation systems and farming processes. Irrigation engineering deals with the analysis and design of irrigation systems such as canals, drains, dams etc. To design irrigation system, a good knowledge of hydraulics, fluid mechanics is required which can be gained through this M.Tech Irrigation and Drainage Engineering course. This course includes the study of new developments in the field, results of the research, case studies and also pracitcal applications of engineering.
