This four year course comprises of eight semesters with curriculum encompassing applied sciences, workshop, core and elective subjects. The first year curriculum covers applied physics, applied mathematics, applied chemistry, applied mechanics, workshop , engineering drawing. In the subsequent years the curriculum comprises of subjects namely thermal engineering, manufacturing technology, material science, numerical methods in engineering, work systems design, elements of electrical and electronics engineering, probability and statistics, materials management, operations research, logistics, supply chain management, financial management CAD, reliability engineering, plant layout and facilities planning, quality control, maintenance management, optimization techniques etc. The final year includes internship and or a project where the students put theory learnt to practice. Overall the course is designed to prepare world class competent professionals who have strong technical skills.
The graduates are in demand in both government and private sector manufacturing, instrumentation and industrial automation sectors. The passout graduates are capable of effectively managing the manufacturing and production sectors in the industries by optimizing time, money, material, efforts etc.
