If you have just passed your higher secondary course, then you must be mixed up with a lot of thoughts right now. Where to get admitted? What stream to get admitted in? What subject to get admitted in?
I can provide one suggestion to those people who are thinking of joining a course that is related to business ethics and those who plan to become entrepreneurs at some point of time can go for a B.Com in English & Business Communication. The major subject here will be Business Communication. The two language subjects to be taken must contain English as one of them. This course is a little different than mainstream accounts or finance honors course.
- You need to pass 12th standard with minimum 75-80% marks. If you get lower than that most eminent colleges won’t accept your application.
- Your passing stream should be either commerce or science with mathematics as one of the subjects.
Options for higher studies
You need to complete your master’s degree after you complete graduation in English and Business Communication.
So among the master’s degree the best two options will be either M.Com or MBA. If you pass M.Com then you can go for jobs in the banking sector. Banks hire people from commerce domain, if and only if they pass the respective entrance examination. You can also aim for corporate jobs. In that MBA will suit you best.
You can get admitted in MBA or Master’s in Business Administration if you pass any of the government affiliated MBA entrance examinations.
You can also think of chartered accountancy. Although it is not a master degree, it is very helpful for people who want jobs in consultancy firms.
Scope of Jobs
You can go for banking jobs such as, either clerk or probationary officer posts. Even if you are a graduate, you are eligible to sit for banking entrance examinations.
There are a lot of sections or departments in the corporate hubs which will welcome you, if you clear the interview session. You can join as an junior associate in the marketing or accounting or finance department.
If you are interested in government jobs, then you can sit for any state government examinations like UPSC or PSUs etc.
If you complete M.Com right after your B.Com, then you may also join a college as a lecturer in commerce subject. So there are a lot of scopes to avail.
