The above diploma course prepares you for the role of a general nurse in hospitals and other healthcare units. The course is approved by the Indian Nursing Council (INC), New Delhi and can be undertaken in one of the many approved nursing colleges spread across the country. The course equips you with necessary skills and expertise that enables you to practice as a full-time professional nurse in any of the hospitals in the country or abroad. As a general nurse you get to work as a part of the health team and carry out various activities as instructed by the medical practitioner.
Eligibility and course duration
10+2 or an equivalent qualification preferably in the science stream with at least 40% marks in aggregate.
The duration of the course is 3 years. After the training the students have to undergo a compulsory internship of six months.

You can apply for a general nursing post in any of the hospitals, nursing homes or health clinics. You can also work as clinical nurse specialist, legal nurse consultant, forensic nurse or travelling nurse. You may work as a nursing teacher.
