Introduction


Once you have completed your M.tech in electrical and electronics engineering, you can continue further studies by opting for a Ph.D degree. In the coursework of 6months-1 year, you will have to study the basics of electrical engineering. You have already learnt that in your M.tech. The rest of the Ph.D course will be of 4-5 years. In these years you will have to come up with innovative ideas in the field of electronics. You will be provided with the necessary materials by your research guide.

Eligibility criteria


  • You must have obtained a master’s(M.Tech) degree in electrical engineering or electronics engineering or electronics and communication engineering with minimum 60% marks.

  • You will also have to clear GATE or UGC NET or CSIR NET examination to be eligible for this course. Those who don’t have a valid GATE or NET score will have to sit for an entrance examination set by the university itself.

  • If you have either cleared the entrance examination or any government affiliated research entrance examination like GATE or NET then you will be eligible for appearing in the interview. You will be questioned about the basics of electrical engineering.
