This ten semester integrated masters program consists of core as well as optional subjects. All through the course, other than the usual theory classes, the students get to attend a lot of practicals, laboratory works and seminars. The course is not complete, unless one does the mandatory project work and submits the project report at the end of the course. Other than the usual subjects covered for undergraduate studies, one has to study subjects like computer architecture, programming in C++, COBOL, data processing, data structures, data base management, operating systems, system software, algorithms, artificial intelligence and computer graphics.
With this qualification in hand you are eligible for most software development positions in a host of IT companies. Software engineers, programmers, software developers are some of the usual job profiles in this sector. Other than the IT industry, one can also get into sectors like education, health services, banking, finance, retail, transportation, communication and many more. Most public sector enterprises recruit software engineers for their in-house software development cells.
