A course in welding trains you to join two pieces of metals together through various techniques by the application of heat. It not only trains you on the various welding methods, but also makes you understand about the cutting processes, metallurgy principles, welding inspection, welding codes, fabrication techniques, quality control, destructive and non-destructive test on welds. Apart from the theoretical teaching the course program provides you with intensive hands on practical training to master the art of welding. Some of the welding techniques you will learn are shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, flux cored arc welding and flux cored arc welding.
After successful pass out from this course, the students are primarily absorbed as entry level technicians in most of the metal works industries. With experience and further training one can progress from a technician to a welding engineer, welding inspector or a quality assurance engineer. Applications of welding engineering and technology are to be seen in almost every industry.
