For admission to this Bachelor’s degree the candidate needs to have completed higher secondary school certificate 10+2 examination with science subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and or have taken an all India AIEEE exam. AIEEE stands for All India Engineering Entrance Examination. Some Institutes conduct their own entrance exams and admissions are given on merit of 10+2 science and entrance exam.

The Information Science and engineering Bachelor’s course comprises of eight semesters. As a part of the curriculum the students will undergo basic foundational subjects like physics, maths, applied chemistry, applied mechanics, engineering drawing etc. The second and the third year covers the basic subjects of Information Science and engineering subjects like Databases, Programming languages, ERP, Web technologies, Multimedia, ERP, Ecommerce, Software testing, MIS etc. Almost all subjects will have theory along with practicals. Based on the Information science fundamentals covered the students will opt for elective/ specialization in the final year along with project. Some colleges offer project +internship in the final semester. The course is designed to provide the basic concepts, hands on practice and a project which prepares the student to face the real world.
Graduates can opt for ME or M Tech in Information Science and Engineering or MBA in Marketing or Operations and later if desired can go for Doctoral studies.
