Electronics and Communication field deals with electronic devices and software interfaces and involves the transmission of information across channels, designing communication equipments like routers, switches, fiber optics and electronic switching systems. The Master’s course is a four semester course with various core, and specialized IT subjects, namely electives taught the first two/ three semesters (depends on the University and the Institute). In the next one/ two semesters student has the freedom to work on a project which utilizes all the theory and practical learnt. The project can be carried out in the college or in an industry.
The candidates can opt for lucrative and interesting careers in the Electronics and Communication sector in almost every domain for automation or communication like industrial, commercial, defense, scientific companies etc. in design, manufacturing, quality control and R&D departments. A few examples of where the candidate can be recruited are in firms pertaining to consumer electronics, electrical utility –generation and distribution, transportation, automotive sector, aviation, radio , TV and satellite etc. The jobs are available in both private and public sectors. Some candidates with strong logical and analytical skills and interest in programming often opt for IT jobs.
After completing this course the candidate may opt for higher education to carry out research and complete a doctoral program.
