Lame duck is an elected administrator or representative, whose time in office is about to end and is unlikely to be re-elected.

Sample Usage

During January last when we convened our Residents' Association's Annual General Body Meeting, our local Parliament Member (MP) was invited to inaugurate the same. He, while addressing, promised a couple of developmental projects in our area, but he being a lame duck, little attention was given by the audience to his statements.
