Helping verbs "SHALL" and it`s uses

a. Shall, when used in the first person expresses simple future tense.

b. Shall, when used with the second and the third person expresses--
1. A promise.
2. A command.
3. A threat.
4. A compulsion.
5. Certainty regarding future.
6. A determination.

Note: When, shall, denote simple future, it is an auxiliary verb. But when it denote determination or command it is a principal verb.


Sample Usage

a. I shall play the match.

b.

1. You shall have a book.

2. The guard shall be at the gate.

3. All those who are absent shall be fined.

4. You shall have to pay for it.

5. The winners shall be receiving the prizes.

6. They shall fight to the last.
