The meaning of "eminent" is -->
1) Esteemed
2) Distinguished.
3)Prominent

The meaning of "imminent" is --->
1)something which is about to happen.Specially used in events involving danger or catastrophe.
2) Projecting or hanging.


Sample Usage

Eminent:
1) Jawarhar Lal Nehru was an eminent statesman.
2) The eminent teachers were awarded for their contributions.

Imminent:
1)We knew that a collision with the oncoming truck was imminent.
2)The terrorist displayed no signs of imminent departure.
