Difference between Emigrate and Immigrate

Emigrate is a verb.
Meanings: leave your country; move abroad.

Immigrate: come to another place of residence.



Sample Usage

1. The Desais emigrated to London so that they could be with their son who had won a scholarship to study there.

2. The Morani brothers decided to immigrate to their native town and set up an agricultural business.

3. The Government is encouraging NRIs to immigrate to their native country and curb the surge of emigrations.
