It is in two forms – verb and noun.

Lurch as verb
Meaning: to make a sudden, unsteady movement forward or sideways.

Lurch as noun.
‘Lurch’ is mainly used as a singular term. In the sentences where ‘lurch’ is used as a noun, ‘a’ has been prefixed. This proves it to a singular.

Meaning: same as the verb form means.



Sample Usage

Lurch as verb
1. Suddenly the horse lurched and the rider fell off.

2. After drinking in the pub, the boys lurched on the road.

3. The couple had never a peaceful time. Their relationship lurched from one problem to another.

Lurch as noun.
1. The truck gave a violent lurch due to ill maintained road.

2. When I found that beautiful girl sitting just next to me, my heart gave a lurch.
