Elephantine progress : the phrase is an idiom. It means slow movement.

The elephant is a hefty animal which moves very slowly. Therefore when a job or a progress is made at a slow pace, we call it an elephantine progress.

For example: Most of the projects undertaken by the government make an elephantine progress.


Sample Usage

As Rani is very lazy, she always makes an elephantine progress in any jobs she takes up.
