Difference between 'Recollect' and 'Remember'

To recollect is 'succeed in remembering'.A thing which we have almost forgotten is recollected.The remember is to retain in memory,'not to forget'.

Sample Usage

Recollect
1. He recollected the half-forgotten dimmemories of his childhood.
2. I don't recollect having seen her before.

Remember
1. I cannot but remember such things were,that were most precious to me.
2. I remember watching the first men landing on the moon.
