Note: (i) Attempt all the three questions.

1. Answer any one of the following in about 1200 words:
(a) "The Status and Prospects of Distance Education in Uttar Pradesh - A Critical Study."
This is the title of your research project. Which research method will you apply for this study and why? Explain the main steps involved in conducting this research study.
(b) Think of a research problem of your choice. Write the title of the problem. Describe three main components of the research report of this study. Explain any one component in detail.
2. Write short answers to any four of the following in about 300 words each :
(a) Differentiate between Fundamental Research and Applied Research in the context of distance education.
(b) Describe any three characteristics of a good research problem.
(c) Explain any two sources which would help you in identifying a significant research problem.
(d) Describe the characteristics of various types of descriptive research.
(e) Differentiate between cluster sampltng and multistage sampling,
(f) State the uses of questionnaire in the collection of data.
3. Answer any one of the following in about 1200 words:
(a) As an examiner for evaluating a distanee education project report, what criteria will you keep in mind for evaluating "the introduction, objectives and hypothesis" of the report?
(b) Describe the findings of the research studies in the area of "Programmes and Courses" and "Course Developrnent and Evaluation''' conducted in India.
