Answer ALL questions. 1. Define client. Give an example. 2. What is downsizing? 3. What are Fax/Print services? 4. What are the functions of PC Network file services? 5. Define wide area network. 6. State any three reasons for reengineering of existing systems. 7. What is internet? 8. What is hypertext? 9. What is workbench? 10. What is prototype?
PART B — (4 x 10 = 40 marks) Answer any FOUR questions. 11. State any five advantages of client/server computing and explain each one of them. 12. Explain common request broker architecture. 13. Explain the hardware components required for the server. 14. Explain (a) OLE (b) DCOM. 15. Explain the features of APT workbench component.
