PERSONAL LAWS May ] [ Time : 3 Hours Maximum : 100 Marks Answer any THREE questions from Part - A and any THREE questions from Part - B. All questions carry equal marks. PART - A 1. Who is coparcenary ? What are the rights of coparcener ? 2. Elucidate the role of the family courts in the adjudication of matrimonial matters. 3. Explain the rules of succession when a Christian died intestate, leaving behind lineal descendants and when there is no lineal descendants. 4. Distinguish between void and voidable marriages. 5. Explain the sources of Hindu law. PART - B 6. Explain the guardianship of the persons and guardianship of the property under Muslim Law. 7. Compare the powers of a Muslim to make a gift, a Wakf and a Will of his property. 8. Explain Talaq. State the grounds in which a Muslim wife can obtain divorce under the Dissolution of Muslim Marriage Act, 1939. 9. Who is a sharer in Hanabi Law ? Explain the rules of distribution of property among the sharers in Hanabi Law. 10. Write short notes on any TWO of the following : (a) Cruelty. (b) Iddat. (c) Acknowledgment of paternity. (d) Stridhana.
