1. Which of the most stable biasing circuit? why?
2. What is the position of Q point on the load line for the transistor to act as switch?
3. compare BJT and FET amplifiers.

5. Mention the advantage and disadvantage of transformer coupling.
6. Mention the application of class C amplifiers.
7. What is the effect of emitter by-pass capacitor on the frequency response of common emitter amplifier?
8. Find the bandwidth of an amplifier, if the rise time is 10ns.
9. What is the PIV rating of full wave bridge rectifier?
10.What is line regulation?

11.(a) (i) Carry out the bias stability for the voltage divider bias of BJT and hence determine the stability factors.
Or
(b) (i) With circuit diagram explain biasing of FET and MOSFET.
(ii) Explain with an example temperature compensation method to improve bias stability.


12.(a) Derive the expression for voltage gain,current gain,power gain, input and output impedances for CE BJT amplifier using h-parameter analysis.

Or
(b) (i) Derive the expression for CMRR of a differential amplifier.
(ii) what is the use of constant current source in the emitter.


13. (a) (i) Explain class A amplifier and derive the expression for the power conversion efficiently of a class A power amplifier with resistive load.
(ii) Briefly explain the use of heat sink in power amplifiers.
Or
(b) (i) Explain using the circuit diagram and waveforms, the operation of class B power amplifier using complementary symmetry transistors.
(ii) What is cross over distortion? How it is eliminated?

14. (a) (i) Explain the low frequency and high frequency response of BJT amplifier and derive the expression for critical frequencies for a CE amplifier.

(b) (i) Write notes on opto couplers
(ii) Write short on compensation techniques to improve the frequency response of amplifiers.



15.(a) Drive the expression for output voltage, average output, efficiency,PIV and TUF fir full wave bridge rectifier.

Or
(b) (i) Drive the expression for ripple factor of capacitor input filter (RC) that is connected at the output of a HWR.
(ii) Explain the principle of working of switched mode voltage regulators.
