2007 Alagappa University M.B.A Financial Management ORGANISATIONAL BEHAVIOUR Question paper
(2005 onwards) Time : Three hours Maximum : 100 marks PART A — (5 * 8 = 40 marks) Answer any FIVE questions. Each answer should not exceed 2 pages.
1. Define organizational behaviour. What are its key elements? 2. What is personality? What are its major determinants? 3. What are the major dimensions of social learning theory? 4. Define group dynamics. Why informal groups come into existences? What factors influence group cohesiveness? 5. What do your understand by organizational development? What are the major OD techniques? 6. What do you understand by Barriers in communication? How will you overcome such barriers? 7. What is meant by stress? What are its consequences? Suggest measures for managing it. 8. What is meant by organizational culture? How is it created and sustained?
PART B— (4* 15 = 60 marks) Answer any THREE questions from question No. 9 to 14. Question No. 15 is compulsory. Each answer not to exceed 5 pages.
9. Explain the method of operation of the victor rooms expectancy theory of motivation. 10. What are the factors that shape individuals personality? Which of them in your opinion are more important in shaping the personality of an individual? 11. ‘‘Any observable change in behaviour is prima facie evidence that learning has taken place’, Discuss. 12. What is meant by group cohesiveness? Explain the relationship between group cohesiveness and productivity. 13. Distinguish between power and authority. 14. What is meant by organizational change? What are its causes? What techniques would you use in overcoming such resistance? 15. What do you understand by leadership? What are its styles? Which style may be more effective?
