MS-95 : RESEARCH METHODOLOGY FOR MANAGEMENT DECISIONS
Time : 3 hours Maximum Marks : 100
(Weightage 70%)
Note :
(i) This paper contains two Sections, Section A and
Section B. (ii) Section A contains six questions. Attempt any
four questions from Section A, each carrying
20 marks. (in) Section B is compulsory and carries 20 marks. (iv) Statistical tables will be provided on demand.
SECTION A
1. Discuss the process of identifying research problems. What are the criteria or factors that are to be considered while selecting a research problem ?
2. What do you understand by Stratified Random Sampling ? What are the benefits of stratification of a population ? State whether precision is improved by using Stratified Sampling.
3. What do you understand by the term decision-making ? What is the role of models in managerial decision-making ? Explain.
4. Why is communication dimensions considered an essential component of presentation skills ? Elaborate the major elements of communication dimensions.
5. Write short notes oh any three of the following :
(a) Completely randomized design
(b) Qualities of an interviewer
(c) Discriminant analysis
(d) Type of bibliographies
(e) Information oriented reports
6. What is a Semantic Differential Scale ? What does it measure ? Describe the steps involved in the construction of a Semantic Differential Scale.
SECTION B
7. Use the sign test to see if there is a difference between the number of days required to collect an account receivable before and after a new collection policy. Use the 0-05 significance level.
