2007 Alagappa University M.B.A Financial Management RURAL BANKING Question paper
(2005 onwards) Time : Three hours Maximum : 100 marks PART A — (5 * 8 = 40 marks) Answer any FIVE questions.
1. Point out the features of a Co-operative Bank. 2. Discuss the need for rural banking. 3. Write short notes on IRDA. 4. Explain the concept of priority sector lending. 5. Narrate the features of 20 point Programme. 6. Bring out any two schemes implemented recently for the development of women in rural areas. 7. What is a Lead Bank scheme? 8. What are the functions of DIC.
PART B — (4 × 15 = 60 marks) Answer any THREE questions from Question No. 9 to Question No. 14 and Question No. 15 is compulsory.
9. Discuss the functions of a Co-Operative Bank. 10. Discuss the role of Commercial banks in rural lending. 11. Explain the progress and problems of credit planning at the gross root level. 12. Elaborate the role of banks in providing self employment to educated unemployed youth. 13. Narrate the Components of Service Area Approach. 14. Discuss the role of SIDBI in supporting rural development. 15. Elaborate the schemes offered by KVIC.
