SECTION A — (5 x 8 = 40 marks)
Answer any FIVE of the following.
All questions carry equal marks.
1. Define Mass Communication.
2. Write a note on P.T.I.
3. Enumerate the qualifications of a journalist.
4. What is a Radio feature?
5. What are the advantages of Radio?
6. What are the functions of mass media to society?
7. Explain the role of film censor board.
8. Do you think that a journalist can be made?
SECTION B — (4 x 15 = 60 marks)
Answer any FOUR of the following.
All questions carry equal marks.
9. ‘‘Mass media provide a location where the affairs of public life are played out’’. Examine.
10. Explain the various categories of mass media and discuss the advantage of each.
11. ‘‘A Journalist should know something about everything and everything about something’’ – Elucidate.
12. ‘‘The departments of a news paper are both independent as well as interdependent’’ – Discuss.
13. ‘‘FM broadcasts have opened up new avenues for Radio’’ – Explain.
14. ‘‘Mass medium is a scientific equipment and by itself it is neither good nor bad. It is the people behind it make it either good or bad’’ – Examine.
15. Write a critical note on the various Journalism and Communication Courses available in India.
