1. Define a Software and Explain the software characteristics. [16]
2. Explain the terms measures, metrics and indicators. [16]
3. What is meant by software prototyping? Describe the advantages and disadvantages of using software prototyping for analysis. Give an example situation in which
you would recommend the use of prototyping for analysis. [16]
4. (a) “Data Modeling can be viewed as a subset of OOA”. comment on this state-
ment and justify your comments. [8]
(b) “Object Oriented Analysis is radically different from the conventional Struc-
tured analysis approach”, common on this statement. [8]
5. What is meant by Transform analysis? Explain clearly with an example the differ-
ent steps in it. [16]
6. (a) Explain the object oriented design methods. How do you identify classes and
objects? [8]
(b) How do you refine the operation after identification of objects. [8]
7. (a) Explain about the automated tools used in software maintenance. [8]
(b) Discuss the software metrics that can be applied to the qualitative assessment of software quality and the side effects that occur during maintenance phase. [8]
8. (a) Quality, reliability and safety are related concepts, but are fundamentally different in a number of ways. Discuss them. [8]
