Time : 180 minutes Marks : 100
Instructions for the students :
1. All questions are compulsory.
2. “Long Answer type Question (LAQ)” is a supply type question of 20 marks,
which require typical answer of about 60-80 lines in about 32-40 minutes.
3. “Short Answer type Question (SAQ)” is a supply type question of 5 marks,
which require typical answer of about 15-20 lines in about 08-10 minutes.
4. Use of non-programmable type of scientific calculator is allowed.
5. Draw neat diagrams wherever necessary.
6. Assume suitable data if necessary.
Long Answer type Questions (LAQ’s)
1. (a) What are the different methods of producing electricity ?
Explain in detail.
(b) Resistor has 5 bands, first band is brown, second bandblack,
third band-black, fourth band-brown, fifth bandbrown.
Calculate the value of resistor.
(c) What is pot ? Draw symbol for it.
2. (a) What is electroplating ? Which factors effect the
electroplating of metals ?
(b) Write short notes on :
i) Lithium cells
ii) Button cells
3. (a) What is Meggar ? Where it is used ?
(b) Which factors decide resistance of wire ?
(c) Explain the operating principle of speaker.

(a) Four capacitors having values of 20uf, 50µ f, 40µ f and
60µ f are connected in i) series ii) paraller. What is the
total capacitance of this circuit ?
(b) What is Relay ? What are the different types of relays ?
Explain operation of any one.
Short Answer type Questions (SAQ’s)
5. A 10 k resistor has a tolerance of 5%. What are the minimum
and maximum ratings of this resistor ?
6. What is Cuprous Cyanid ? 5
7. What is duet banks ? How to use it ? 5
8. What would be the plate area of a 1-Farad capacitor if air is used
as the dielectric and the plates are separated by a distance of 1
in ? Give answer in sq. inch and sq. miles.
