PART A — (5 ? 8 = 40 marks) Answer any FIVE questions. Each question carries 8 marks.
1. What are the functions of project counselling carried out by merchant bankers? 2. What is meant by price sensitive information? 3. Explain the features of open ended funds. 4. How will you determine the Net Asset Value of a Mutual Fund Scheme? 5. State the disadvantages of Credit Rating. 6. Write a short note on Hire Purchase Financing in India. 7. What are the powers of SEBI in relation to Stock Exchanges? 8. Explain the role of investor associations in protecting the interests of investors.
PART B — (4 × 15 = 60 marks) Answer any FOUR questions. Each question carries 15 marks.
9. Explain the functions of Merchant Bankers. 10. Discuss the role of SEBI in regulating the primary market. 11. Elaborate the advantages of Mutual Fund Schemes. 12. Elucidate the role of SEBI in regulating the mutual fund industry. 13. Explain the benefits of credit rating available to investors. 14. Discuss the advantages provided by factoring service. 15. Elaborate the merits and demerits of Leasing.
