1. (a) Distinguish between institutional and non-institutional credits. Also mention their merits and demerits. (5)

(b) Describe the mechanism of multi-agency system of rural credit in India . (5)

2. (a) What do you mean by flood forecasting and advance warning system in flood management ? Discuss the progress made in India in this direction.

(b) Discuss important features of Minimum Wages Act. How does the Act address the problem of gender bias in wages? (5)

3. (a) List salient features of 'New National Agricultural Insurance Policy' which has replaced the earlier Comprehensive Crop Insurance Scheme' in India. How will it be helpful for the small and marginal farmers ? (5)

(b) Suggest suitable measures crop productivity in dryland to improve the overall areas of our country. (5)

4. (a) How far have government's initiatives been successful to improve the condition of agricultural labour ? Discuss. (5)

(b) How is a good marketing system beneficial for both producer as well as consumer ? (5)

5. (a) In view of declining average size of holding which type of credit has more relevance and why? (5)

(b) What do you understand by 'Kisan Credit Card' ? Discuss the salient features of Kisan credit Card Scheme. (5)

6. (a) Discuss the genesis of NABARD. List five main functions of NABARD. (5)

(b) Explain the three-tier structure of co-operative credit. (5)

7. (a) Describe quality control parameters needed for agricultural produce. Name the agencies responsible to ensure the quality of agricultural produce in India. (5)

(b) Briefly discuss the characteristics of two important indigenous milch cattle breeds. (5)

8. (a) Differentiate between 'Control measures' and 'Regulatory measures' with respect to plant diseases. How is excessive pesticide use posing new threats in our country? (5)

(b) Why is people's participation important in any community development programme? (5)

9. (a) How is Agricultural pricing policy crucial for agricultural development? Has it led to unequal development in India ? Give your comments.

(b) Discuss the procedure to fix the minimum support prices of important crops in India. (5)

10 (a) Discuss the factors affecting labour maket supply. (5)

(b) Explain the role and performance of National Dairy Development Board. (5)
