2007 Calicut University B.Sc Computer Science English Paper II —MODERN PROSE AND DRAMA Question paper
I. Write an essay on one of the following in about 250 words :—
(a) "Their selfless action brought a new nobility to human life, gave promise
of a greater hope for human society". Discuss in the light of A.J. Cronin's
'Two Gentlemen of Verona.
(b) How does Katherine Mansfield bring out the contrast between Rosemary
Fell's essentially kind nature and her vanity ?

II. Write an essay on one of the following in about 250 words :—
(a) "Shaw's characters are mouth pieces of his views and ideas on the
various problems of life". Analyse the character of Bluntschli in the tight
of the given statement
(b) Why does Shaw call Arms and the Man an anti-romantic comedy

III. Write a paragraph each on. four of the following, choosing two from
each section :-
