Time: 3 Hours Maximum Marks: 100

(Weightage 70%)



Note: Answer any two questions from DCQ and any four from MCQ. Question no. 13 is compulsory.


Descriptive Category Questions (DCQ) : Answer any two of the following questions in about 500 words each.


1. Discuss the main components of feudal system in Europe. What were the factors which led to its decline? [Marks 20]
2. Discuss the main social reform movements in the 19th century India. [Marks 20]

3. Evaluate the institution of Panchayati Raj in India. [Marks 20]

4. Discuss the main activities which have damaged the global ecosystem and suggest some corrective measures. [Marks 20]


Middle Category Questions (MCQ) : Answer any four of the following questions in about 250 words each.


5. What was the impact of the Reformation on European Society? [Marks 12]

6. Describe the factors responsible for the growth of River Valley Civilizations. [Marks 12]

7. Examine the causes of the First War of Independence in 1857. Why did it fail? [Marks 12]

8. Distinguish between economic development and economic growth. [Marks 12]

9. Discuss the role of British Government in the growth of regionalism and communalism in India. [Marks 12]

10. Give arguments for and against reservation in India. [Marks 12]

11. Discuss various legal measures adopted for the protection of woman in India. [Marks 12]

12. What is the nature of nuclear weapons? Discuss the consequences of nuclear war. [Marks 12]


Short Category Questions (SCQ) :


13. Write short notes on any two of the following in about 100 words each. [Marks 6+6]

(i) Compare Stone age and Bronze age tools.

(ii) Importance of Public Sector in India.

(iii) Directive Principles of State Policy in the Constitution of India.

(iv) Wardha Scheme of Education.
