preliminary energy auditing? Explain various steps of the
system.
b) What is the role of energy manager and energy auditor? 5
c) What are major losses in a transformer? Calculate transformer 2+3
losses for loading of 70%, Where no load & full load losses are 3 &25KW.

measures required for controlling it?
b) Explain with a neat diagram, the working of ESP( ElectroStatic Precipitator) in power plant. 4+4

c) What are preventive measures used for water treatment in a 5
power plant?
Q.6 a) What is environmental impact assessment? Explain various 3+5
aspects of E.I.A. for a new power plant in India.
b) Explain Hazardous waste management and solid waste 4+3
management.

Q.7 An equipment is purchased at a cost of Rs. 2 lakhs which gives
an annual saving of Rs. 50,000/-. If discounting rate is 12% per
annum, Then calculate following
a) N.P.V. of investment after 5 years 5
b) N.P.V. after 7 years 2
c) I.R.R. investment if salvage value is Rs. 20,000/- after seven 8
years.
