Duration: Three Hours Max. Marks: 50 Minimum Passing Marks: 20
Instructions: 1. The Question Paper is divided into five units. Each unit carries an internal choice. 2. Attempt one question from each unit. Thus attempt FIVE questions in all. 3. All questions carry equal marks. 4. Assume suitable data wherever necessary. 5. English version should be deemed to be correct in case of any anomaly in translation. 6.Protest against question paper, if any, should be lodged after paper through Head of Department Study Institute. No boycott of paper should be made under any circumstances by the examinees. Unit-I
1.Explain how far communication research is dependent on social scientific research. Also explain the difference between social scientific research and survey.
2.Explain the process and tools of social scientific research. Unit-II
3.Explain the components of designing a research on the topic of your interest. Also describe the process and explain in detail, how would your review the literature on the research problem?
4.Explain the process and types of Communication Research. How would you carry out the research study of the impact of a Newspaper in a village, which is exclusively brought out for Non-literates? Unit-III
5.One National News-channel wants to carry out feed-back research in Hindi speaking states. Frame the questions and describe the tools, which are cost-effective and easy to complie and analyse.
6.Explain the tools of data collection. Which tools would be effective in understanding the prevalent attitudes practices of dowry in an elite locality. Unit-IV
7.How would you study the impact of a local FM Radio in the city?
8.“Content analysis of Media text is incomplete without ideological analysis.” Substantiate your arguments with relevant examples. Unit-V
9.Narrate the qualitative findings of a survey, which you have carried out recently. Also explain the fact that how does a researcher's bias influence his/her study?
10.“Communication research agenda is dictates by market forces and it is appropriated to cater their interest”. Offer your arguments either for or against the statement.
