Instructions: 1) Answer question No.9 and five of the remaining questions.
2) Answers should be written completely either in English or in Kannada

1. State the object and scope o Arbitration and conciliation law in India. 16

2. What do you mean by Domestic Award? Discuss the provisions relating to form
And contents of an arbitral Award. 16

3. Define an arbitrator. Explain the provisions relating to appointment of arbitrators
Under the arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. 16

4. Explain the statement of objects and reasons stated in BILL on the Law of
Arbitration and conciliation. 16

5. State the rules relating to interim measures etc. by the courts with decided cases. 16

6. State the grounds and circumstances on which the court can set-aside the arbitral
Award. 16

7. State the composition of the Arbitral Tribunal and explain the rules relating to
Conduct of arbitral proceedings as provided under the Arbitration and Conciliation
Act, 1996. 16

8. “ The Alternative Dispute Resolution (A.D.R.) is not an alternative to the formal
Judicial system but only a supplement to it”. Comment. 16

9. Write explanatory note on any two of the following: 20
(i) Arbitration Agreement
(ii) New York convention award
(iii) Termination of Conciliatin Proceedings
(iv) Statutory Arbitration.
