1. (a) Differentiate between aircraft pneumatic and hydraulic systems. [8]
(b) With the help of a simple sketch explain the working of an aircraft pneumatic
system. [8]
2. (a) Explain various configurations of landing gears employed in majority of the
aircrafts. [8]
(b) With the help of a neat sketch explain the function of Air-oil shock oleoleg.
[8]
3. Using a schematic layout of analog air data computer, explain the operation of a
fully powered airplane control system. [16]
4. (a) List out the advantages of a fuel injection system. [6]
(b) With the help of schematic layout explain the Fuel flow control system in
aircraft systems. [10]
5. (a) Write about various protection systems, which are found commonly in use
with Aircraft electric systems. [8]
(b) Draw a diagram and explain ‘Differential relay’ in aircraft electrics. [8]
6. (a) Why does an oxygen system is listed under aircraft Utility Systems? [8]
(b) With the help of a rough sketch explain a typical oxygen system for a light
twin engine airplane. [8]
7. (a) Define the two fundamental properties of a gyro scope. Explain how does a
simple artificial horizon functions. [8]
(b) Difference between ‘free gyro’,‘rate gyro’ ‘tied gyro’ and ‘earth gyro’. [8]
8. (a) Explain the temperature and pressure gauges used in aircraft systems. [8]
(b) Explain in detail how the speed of an aircraft engine can be measured. [8]
