Instruction: Draw diagrams wherever necessary.
PART-A
I. Answer any ten of the following: (2X10=20)
i) Distinguish between Ore and Mineral. ii) What is meant by Rotation crop cultivation? iii) What is meant by B.O.D and C.O.D? iv) What are primary consumer and why they are called so? v) Write two problems using Fossil fuel as a source of energy? vi) What is meant by sustainable growth? viii) What are checkdams? ix) Write two adverse impacts of overgrazing? x) Write two measures to prevent soil erosion? xi) What is food chain? Give example? xii) What are the hot spots of Biodiversity?
PART-B
2. Write explanatory notes on any five of the following: (5x5=25)
a) Discuss between Renewable and non-renewable energy resources with an illustration. b) Write and explain the environmental significance of Air act? c) What are the causes and remedial measures of ozone layer depletion? d) What are the problems involved in resettlement and rehabilitation of tribals? e) Discuss marine pollution with an example. f) Discuss pond as an ecosystem. g) India is a mega diversity Nation. Discuss.

Answer any three of the following: (3x15=45)
3. Discuss the impact of population on environment. 4. Discuss the importance and conservation of biodiversity. 5. Discuss ecological succession. 6. Explain the environmental impacts of mining activities. 7. Discuss causes and effects of soil erosion? Suggest suitable soil conservation practices.
