M.A. D 609 NGO Principles Nov 2007 Time : Three hours Maximum : 100 marks SECTION A — (5 * 8 = 40 marks) Answer any FIVE questions not exceeding 250 words each. 1. Describe the nature of management and its functions. 2. Write about the human resource perspective of management. 3. What are the techniques and methods of control? 4. Write a short note on multiple control systems. 5. Write about the role and functions of a ideal manager. 6. What are the characteristics of effective control? 7. Define the nature of staffing in NGO. SECTION B — (4 * 15 = 60 marks) Answer any FOUR questions not exceeding 750 words each. 8. Explain the importance of committees and groups involved in an organisation. 9. Define Organisation and explain line and staffing in an organisation. 10. What are the skills needed to be an effective manager? 11. Write short notes on : (a) Decentralization (b) Organising the vertical structure (c) Departmentation. 12. Discuss the recent historical trends in NGO management. 13. Compare and contrast modern management with that of early management. 14. Describe the emerging issues of management in India.
