(b) Explain the need for watershed development in India.
2. Explain in detail both areal and relief aspects of drainage basin.
3. Explain different phases of watershed development.
4. Define soil erosion and describe the factors affecting soil erosion.
5. Explain the Universal Soil Loss Equation for predicting the soil loss.
6. Explain the following measures to control erosion
(i) Rockfill dams
(ii) Brushwood dam
7. Explain the following
(i) Biomass management
(ii) Dry land agriculture
(iii) Horticulture
(iv) Silvi pasture
8. Discuss in detail people participation and administrative requirements in planning
of watershed management activities.
