1. (a) Discuss about the principles of sustainable development.
(b) Write a note on pollution. [6+10]
2. (a) Discuss the use of bioenergy as a non-conventional energy.
(b) Discuss about the equitable use and conservation of natural resources. [8+8]
3. (a) Discuss the major features of a stream (river) that differ from that of a lake.
(b) Discuss zonation in an ocean. What role is played by oceans in terms of
providinresources and regulating climate? [8+8]
4. (a) What are the objectives of identifying biodiversity hotspots?
(b) Classify the types of biodiversity and explain in detail with examples. [6+10]
5. (a) What is noise pollution? Write the effects of noise pollution on human health
mentioning the noise levels of some noisy sources in dB (A).
(b) Describe the various methods of control of ‘Noise Pollution’. [8+8]
6. What are impacts of resettlement and rearrangement of people due to a develop-
ment activity? What are your suggestions for a proper justification with reference
to sustainable development? [16]
7. (a) ‘Information Technology can play an important role in improving the quality
of Human life and environment’-Explain.
(b) Write a note on the control of the transmission of AIDS. [10+6]
8. (a) Explain the environmental value of a lake in Andhra Pradesh.
(b) Prepare a report on its maintenance and management and suggest any im-
provements.
