1. (a) What is Mail Merge feature in MS-Word? Explain its uses and write the steps for mail merge with the help of an example. (6)
(b) What is an Operating System? Explain all the four types of operating systems. (7)
(c) Explain the usage of the following S / W constructs with an example for each: (6)
(i) Variables and Constants
(ii) Arrays
(iii) If then .. else
(iv) "While" statement
(d) What is the usage of recycle bin in MS Windows? Write the steps involved for doing the following tasks: (8)
(i) To empty recycle bin
(ii) To restore the files and folders
(iii) To adjust the amount of disk space
(e) With the help of a diagram, explain any two LAN topologies. (3)

(b) Explain the various characteristics of RISC. (3)
(c) Write the steps involved in creating a table on a Powerpoint slide, with the help of an example. (2)
5. (a) Explain the three categories of printers. (5)
(b) Define the term Multimedia. List and explain any three multimedia tools and their usage. (5)
