Time: 3 Hours Max. Marks: 90
Instructions: a) Answer should be written completely either in kannada or in English. b) Answer of Part A should be continuous. c) Answer should be precise.
PART-A (Conceptual)
I. Answer any ten of the following in 2-24 sentences, each question carries 2 marks: (10x2=20)
a) Define sustainable development? b) What do you mean by diseconomy? c) Write the importance of Bunds. d) Define the Ecological Diversity. e) Mention the main objectives of Biosphere reserves. f) What do you mean by soil erosion? g) Define the sprinkler irrigation? h) Define the Biodiversity. i) What do you mean by intensive cultivation? j) What is market failure? k) Name any two resources. l) What do you mean by solar energy?
PART-B (Analytical)
2. Explain the importance of study of environmental economics. 3. Briefly explain the main causes for soil erosion. 4. Briefly explain the main source of capital formation. 5. Briefly explain main causes for Scarcity of Resources. 6. Briefly explain the importance of Forest Resources. 7. Explain briefly the features of Resources. 8. Write a note on measures for Afforestation.
PART-C (Descriptive)
Answer any three of the following in 4 pages, each question carries 15 marks:- (15x3=45)
9. Explain the main methods of pollution control. 10. Discuss the cost-benefit approach to conservation of environment. 11. Explain the main effect of air pollution. 12. What is economic development? Explain the significance of economic development. 13. What is energy Crisis? Explain the causes and remedies.
