SECTION - A
1. Answer any ten of the following question in about three to four lines each. Each question carries two marks. (10x2=20)
a) Define organisation.
b) What is 'Esprit de Corps' ?
c) What is a Policy ?
d) Give the meaning of 'Committee'.
e) What is controlling ?
f) What is span of control ?
g) Give the meaning of 'Motivation'.
h) What is grapevine ?
i) What is 'CPM' ?
j) What is 'Matrix Organisation' ?
k) What is MBO ?
l) Define leadership.
SECTION - B
Answer any five in about 15 lines each. Each question carries 5 marks. (5x5=25)
2. "Management is both science and art". Analyse.
3. Analyse the merits and demerits of centralisation.
4. Explain the importance of co-ordination.
5. Analyse the factors which determine span of management.
6. Explain he qualities of a good leader.
7. Analyse the ways in which a business organisation can discharge its social resposibility.
8. Mention the steps involved in controlling process.
9. Explain briefly important steps in planning.
SECTION - C
Answer any three of the following question in about three pages each. Each question carries 15 marks. (3x15=45)
10. What is staffing ? Explain the procedure involved in selection of a candiate.
11. Explain the theory of motivation as given by Prof. Maslow.
12. Explain the barries to effective communication and suggest measures to overcome them.
13. Explain the basis of departmentation.
14. Explain the principles of management as given by Henry Fayol.
