PART A-(10*2=20)
1. List the various steps in the design cycle.
2. Define the “SENS “ statement in PSPICE.
3. What are ABMs?
4. Write the need for monte carlo analysis.
5. What is timing violation ?
6. Define concurrency.
7. Define model parameter extraction.
8. Draw the model for diode is SPICE.
9. What is the need for numerical methods with variable time step.
10. List few file formats in EDA

PART—B(5*16=80)
11. (a) Discuss the various steps in the design cycle.& Write the relation between different software tools in EDA
(Or)
(b) Explain how will you create PCB layout and VLSI layout using suitable EDA tools.
12 (a) Discuss the different types of simulation possible in PSPICE , after giving on overview of PSPICE.
(Or)
(b) Write detailed notes on :
(i) Voltage markers
(ii) Probe
(iii) Laplace devices in PSPICE.
13 (a) Write how will you construct a 3*8 decoder with two 2*4 decoders. Describe its implementation using PLDs and FPGAs
(Or)
(b) Discuss about digital simulation at register , gate and device levels & Write about races and timing violation.
14 (a) How will you model digital blocks in PSPICE , P-logic and VHDL
(Or)
(b) Discuss the development of models for any four of (i) R (ii)L (iii) C (iv) Diode (v) JFET (vi) MOSFET.
15 (a) Write about routing algorithms for VLSI. & Discuss about linked lists.
(Or)
(b) Write detailed notes on :
(i) Sparse matrices.
(ii) Data structures and algorithms for manipulating graphs.
