1. What are the major components of a computer?
2. Distinguish between main memory and auxiliary memory.
3. What does DOS do?
4. How does an internal command differ from an external command?
5. Write about ROM and PROM.
6. What is a batch file and explain it.
7. How does .FAST OPEN. improve your system performance?
8. Explain the statements:
(a) LET (b) REM (c) DIM.
SECTION B - (2 X 10 = 20 marks)
Answer any TWO questions.
9. What are the characteristics of the computer?
10. What are the file extensions commonly used by DOS? Explain them.
11. What are the advantages of Word Processors?
12. Draw a flowchart to find the smallest among four given integers.
SECTION C - (3 X 20 = 60 marks)
Answer any THREE questions.
13. Draw the block diagram of a computer. Explain each unit of it. Give examples for each unit.
14. What are DOS commands? Give examples and explain them.
15. Explain the impact of computers on the Business and Social sectors.
16. Write the different menus available in Word Star and explain them.
17. (a) Write the general form of IF-THEN, FOR statements in BASIC programming.
(b) Write a program in BASIC to find compound interest for 5 years period.
