1. Determine the swing equation of a single generator connected to a double circuit line through the transformer and there from analyse the steady state stability. Give the comments. 2. Write down the flux linkage and voltage equations of a synchronous machine from its model and there from derive the electromagnetic torque equation. 3. Derive the voltage equations of a generator under no-load and Torque equation under load condition. 4. With the general function block diagram of an excitation system explain in detail how the various components of a system is modeled. 5. Draw the synchronous machine model with the stator equations and prove that, if the armature flux linkage components, with respect to a synchronously rotating reference frame, are constants, then the transformer terms p?d, p?q and terms introduced by the variations in the rotor speed cancel each other. 6. Explain in detail with the equations, how the single machine system is analyzed. 7. Derive the synchronous and damping torque with the necessary phasor diagram. 8. Draw the block diagram of sample power system and explain how basic concepts are applied using PSS.
