1.a) Explain the principle of representing unknown signals by known set of signals and hence discuss the advantages of orthogonal set of functions for signal analysis.
b) Compare trigonometric and exponential Fourier series for signal approximation.
2.a) Define Fourier transform pair and define condition for its existance and hence explain the frequency analysis of signals and system with the help of Fourier transform.
b) Define Hilbert Transform pair and give its importance in signal analysis.
3.a) What basic difference between signal dimensional and two dimensional Transforms and compare them.
b) Discuss clearly 2 – D representation of Fourier transform and discuss the energy and power density functions in 2 – D.
4.a) what are the advantages and disadvantages of Discrete cosine transform over Fourier transform in – 2 – D applications? Discuss clearly the properties of 2D – DeT.
b) What is K – L Transform? Give basic principles of LK transform and discuss the properties.
5.a) What is wavelet? Discuss clearly the features of wavelet transform and hence distinguish between continuous and discrete wavelet transforms.
b) Define MRA, scaling function and explain clearly the concept of basis for wavelet subspace using Haar Wavelet.
6. What do you understand by the term short time Fourier Transform and compare it with continuous wavelet transform.
7.a) Define orthogonal wavelets and bring out their relation to Filter banks.
b) Discuss the implementation of Decomposition Filters and hence bring out concept of PRQMF.
8.a) What do you under stand by biorthogonal Filters and discuss the implementation of B – Spline filter.
b) Discuss clearly
