There are many websites out there which have many projects on electronics but electronics-lab is the best of all of them. I am a student of commerce but in my free time i go to this website and try my hands on some of their projects.
You can also go to hobbyprojects their projects are a bit complicated one, out of my knowledge. And there is also buildinggadgets website they are also good.

You can make great projects by integrating a few basic circuits example
1.Fire Alarm Circuit
2. Relay Circuit
3. LDR

Fire Alarm circuit can be made by using a starter of a tube light as it contains a bi-metallic element

Clap switch can be made by Relay Circuit

LDR the Light Dependent Resistor be integrated with Clap Switch

You can design an automated Security Alarm system from this

You just cannot directly start making projects. You need some background information before you start build something.
Google for electronic projects and you'll get hundred of links. If given an excellent link for you below. It starts from the basics.

Do you know what microcontrollers are? If not, read about them from wikipedia. A lot of projects involve microcontrollers like atmega, PIC, 8051. They can be purchased in electronic shops at a cheap price.

Microcontrollers are like mini-computers. You can program them to do perform functions like glow an led, control switches and lots more.

I personally prefer the Atmega AVR. But PIC has a lot of resources on the internet for free, and 8051 is a standard microcontroller, though an old one. I recommend you start with 8051.

You can also do small electronic projects without getting into microcontrollers. You'll need to study basic electronic components like diodes and capacitors, and choose any project that fits your budget and interest.

LDR the Light Dependent Resistor be integrated with Clap Switch is definitely an easy project to start with.

Also, go to howstuffworks.com, and learn how basic electronic gadgets work.

It'll take time to start up, but then it'll become easy and great fun. Good Luck!

You may do your mini project in the topic “digital object counter”.

The output of this circuit should be able to count the number of objects crossing the optical sensors attached in the circuit. To form the circuit, you have to use a micro processor connected with the optical sensor. When the people are crossing the total set up of the circuit will be sensed by the sensor and will be counted by the micro processor. The counted numbers will be shown in the LED display attached with the circuit.

This is one of the cheapest projects to do as a mini project.
Then if you want to do the project in the robotics, you may prefer the project of constructing a circuit with a robot to find the bomb.

In this circuit, you will have to use a robot with the help of a motor capable of running with the help of a remote control system.

The operation of the whole system is, the robot will be running with the help of the signals from the remote control. When the bomb is detected by the metal sensor at the front part of the robot, the signal will e sent to the micro processor of the circuit and the micro processor will disturb the signal from the remote control and the robot will be stopped by blowing the siren if the siren is attached with the circuit.

You may choose the java, .net or any programming languages to form a software program as the mini project.

In order to do the mini project first of all choose your area of interest and see what currently have implemented in that area.
so that you can get more knowledge about your project and it may be helpful while you are going for an interview.
plan your work and work your plan

hai, I am sudharsan 2009 passed out student in Electronics & Instrumentation . I have a done a mini project in Carrier Robo, it is similar to pick and place Robo . our project is mainly for the people who work cement industries and the like. since workers feel tough to lift the items such as gypsum in cement industries.so inorder to over come this we have done this project.

My Embedded project is AMF DIESEL GENERATOR .The aim of our project is to operate a diesel generator during power failure and switch off the generator when the power is on, Without the manual power.

To get more idea about projects see this website

Hello Mohit,

I would suggest you to show how oscillation and resonance takes place in RLC circuit. It is very simple you will need resistance, capacitance, inductor and few connection wires.

In this practical you will have to know the basic working of resistance, capacitance and inductor.

With this I have attached a lab manuals which will help you for better understanding that what you have to do in the experiment, how you have to do and what will be the basic requirements you will need while performing your mini project.

All the Best.

Shikha Kumari.

it very nice that you studing in 2nd year of BE and interested in miniproject. There is a lot of project is available in electronics .first ,you specified your electronics field what kind of porject are you interested? now a day people are more interested towards the reobotics. so you can choose the project in robotics it is very interesting topic where you can utilised your brain in very sharp mannner

The end result of an electronics project is determined by a few factors. It normally starts with the strong enthusiasm in the project chosen, going on to schematic or circuit design, printed circuit board design, software programming if microcontroller is involved and building protoypes.

Infra Red Door Monitor
This door monitor project uses an infrared beam to monitor door & passageways or any other area. When the beam is broken a relay is tripped which can be used to sound a bell or alarm. Suitable for detecting customers entering a shop, cars coming up a driveway, etc.

Doing a project requires care and concentration. For Electronics related projects you can try project samples in magazines like EFY (Electronics For You). You may well do a mini project related to code samples in Verilog or VHDL if you are interested in that field.

You can also try mini projects in the RF category i.e. Radio Frequency such as RF based Time Attendance system, RF based Digital Energy meter.

An other interesting project is Automated Traffic control used to control the traffic at the traffic signals.

I advise you to concentrate on your core interest in Electronics( Digital, Analog, Basic Electronics etc....).

u can refer site circuitstoday.com but i advise u that u should not pick up direct circuit from any where & implement it on GPB.

instead of this first you should study basic & advance electronics from book.by jacob millman.& then you are able to analyse and design different circuits containing transistor,op-amp,timer ic 555,LDR,etc..and try to apply that logic to create some applicable devices using that...you can also move to microcontrollers & microprocessors...

u can make home security system using LDR,transistor & relays..relay will work as current controlled switch..try LDR in voltage divider bias ckt of transister..

u can make water level indicator using only transister & alarm.
