Class-2 Officer
Candidats who have completed and Under graduate course or 3 year diploma ( in technical courses) are called Class-2 Officer.Generally they are called so, but the name varies for different companies.
Pay Scale
The pay band for class 2 officer is Rs.9300-34800 with a grade pay of Rs.4200. You have to clearly have an idea about the pay band, a band is different from the gross salary which you are going to get.
Gross Salary Calculation for the above pay scale
Though you have the band from 9300, it depends on your company to fix you band. Let us assume they fixed yours at Rs.9500 initially. Let us calculate accordingly,
Your Basic Pay - 9500
Grade pay- 4200
Dearness Allowance( DA)(now-
35% of Basic pay + Grade pay)-4795
So the your gross salary will be Rs.18,495. This will be the general one and depending on your company you will get additional allowances like Travel Allowance, Canteen Allowance, Site allowance, project allowance etc.,
Dearness Allowance
Dearness allowances is given for compensating the price hike in market.It is subjected to either increase or decrease depending on the price in the market.But it has never decreased that you yourself know.Now the DA is 35% and it is going to get increased to 44% now. It will be revised once in six months. You should calculate the the DA for the sum of basic pay and grade pay.
Increment
Increment is given once a year and it will increase your basic pay. At present the increment per year is 3% of your previous basic. So the next year your basic pay will become Rs.9975 and hence all your allowance which are calculated from your basic will increase.The following year they will calculate 3% for the new basic.
Perks
Perks are the additional advantages which you will get from this job, like medical facility, accommodation, schools for your children, ration facility (in uniformed forces) etc.,
